Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program


Medicare Counselors at the Ludington Senior Center are trained volunteers who provide free, unbiased information to Medicare beneficiaries who may be experiencing problems with, or who have questions about, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicare Part D enrollment, long term care insurance, and other related issues.


If you are looking for more general information about what your options are as you age, investigate Person-Centered Options Counseling provided by the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan (AAAWM).

A paralegal for attorney Anna Urick Duggins, who specializes in elder law at Parmenter Law in Muskegon, is available, by appointment only, at the Ludington Senior Center every third Tuesday. Health and Wellness

A registered nurse from Corewell Health visits the Ludington Senior Center at 10:30 a.m., on the second Wednesday of every month, to provide free blood-pressure checks. No appointment is necessary to receive this service.


Jane Lucas-Robinson, LMT, is a licensed massage therapist who offers chair massages at the Ludington Senior Center every Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You may schedule an appointment or simply walk in for a massage.


Each session costs $15, payable by check or cash.

Kristi Bearup, a board-certified family nurse practitioner with West Michigan Foot and Ankle, located on Jebavy Drive in Ludington, provides routine foot-care services, including toenail care and trimming and corn and callus treatment, by appointment only, at the Ludington Senior Center. 


To schedule an appointment to be seen by Kristi for podiatry care at the center, call 231-843-2690 Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or till noon on Fridays.

Medical Equipment Loan Closet

We have medical equipment at the Ludington Senior Center to loan, including walkers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, shower and transfer benches, grabbers, bed rails, toilet-seat risers, commodes, incontinent supplies, and other adaptive devices.


There is no charge to borrow equipment, but donations of any amount as well as the return of surplus equipment and supplies are appreciated so we are able to assist others in need.

Support Groups

The Alzheimer's Association Mason County Caregiver Support Group meets at the Ludington Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month.


If you are unable to attend the afternoon session in Ludington, another meeting is held on the same day at 11:00 a.m. at the Scottville Senior Center, 140 South Main Street, Scottville.


For immediate assistance, call the Alzheimer's Association's free 24/7 helpline, at 800-272-3900, to speak to a live person who can provide information, contacts for local resources, crisis help, and emotional support.
